Man shot to death outside restaurant
Thursday, March 14, 2002 | 10:41 a.m.
Two men were booked into the Clark County jail on murder charges after the shooting death of a man early today outside a fast-food restaurant, Metro Police said.
A man was standing outside a car talking with two men inside the car on Las Vegas Boulevard South at St. Louis Avenue. The men apparently started to argue and a gunshot was fired from inside the car at the man standing, killing him about 2:30 a.m. today, police said.
The two men drove off, but a motorist at the intersection followed the car and called 911 on a cell phone. Police closed in on the escaping car. After a 20-minute standoff the men surrendered.
Ronny Garcia, 29, and Jose Lazo, 28, were booked into the jail and charged with murder.
The name of the slain man was not released this morning.
