Bankrupt U.S. Aggregates Inc. of Draper, Utah, which owns Sandia Construction of Las Vegas and other operations in the western and southeastern United States, has sold its assets to Irish building materials group CRH Plc for about $140 million.
The deal will bolster the U.S. operations of CRH's Oldcastle Materials subsidiary.
U.S. Aggregates, which filed for bankruptcy reorganization Monday as an initial step in the sale process, would not discuss its Las Vegas operations. Oldcastle is one of the largest producers of aggregates, asphalt and ready mix concrete in the United States.
