Park Place Entertainment Corp. of Las Vegas, the world's largest casino company, said it named Harry Hagerty, a former investment banker for casino companies, as chief financial officer.
Hagerty, 41, was most recently CFO and chief operating officer of Akula Software Inc., a closely held software company based in Massachusetts, Park Place said.
Before that he worked for 17 years as an investment banker, including five years as head of the gaming and lodging group for Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Inc.
Hagerty replaces Scott LaPorta, who resigned Jan. 31 to be closer to his home in San Francisco. Hagerty's appointment is effective March 25.
