Sen. Harry Reid will discuss Yucca Mountain with the local chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties on March 28.
Reid, the second-highest ranking Democrat in the U.S. Senate, is leading Nevada's fight in Washington against storing the nation's nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain.
Reid will discuss Yucca Mountain this year "to educate (NAIOP) members on the issue, because it really affects our members," said a NAIOP spokeswoman.
NAIOP's local chapter has taken no official position on nuclear waste storage at Yucca Mountain, which is 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
