Cut gas line ties up traffic
Friday, March 8, 2002 | 10:34 a.m.
Traffic was snarled in downtown Las Vegas for about 45 minutes this morning after a backhoe cut a gas line in front of Neonopolis.
The 2-inch line was hit about 7:30 a.m. just outside Neonopolis off Las Vegas Boulevard. The line was quickly shut off by Southwest Gas workers, but traffic was shut down on Las Vegas Boulevard between Stewart and Ogden avenues.
Construction workers were evacuated from Neonopolis, but allowed back inside after the line was capped.
