Information meetings planned next week
Three Millennium Scholarship information nights for parents and students will be hosted at Community College of Southern Nevada campuses.
The sessions run Tuesday at 6375 W. Charleston Blvd.; Wednesday at 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.; and Thursday at 700 College Drive, Henderson, each from 6:30-8 p.m.
The Millennium program provides up to $10,000 for tuition to attend Nevada colleges and universities during an eight-year period. Eligible scholarship recipients are Nevada high school graduates with at least a 3.0 grade point average.
Dr. Susan Moore, the state's program director, will help address the topics. Call 651-5903.
The 2002 annual Girl Scout
Cookie Sale will be held evenings and weekends March 1-17 at various stores around the valley. To find a booth near you call 385-3677.
Consumer Credit Counseling Service
is holding classes on "Making Ends Meet and Dreams Come True" 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday and 6-7:30 p.m. March 21 at 3650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 32. Learn methods to organize spending, reduce debt and build a brighter future.
Blood drives
These locations will host blood drives for United Blood Services, 6930 W. Charleston Blvd.:
Monday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., UNLV NSMH & PCMA, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
Wednesday: 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Nevada Federal Credit Union, 2645 S. Mojave Road; 7 a.m.-1 p.m., Area Technical Trade Center, 444 W. Brooks Ave.
Thursday and Friday: 7 a.m.-2 p.m., Palo Verde High School.
Saturday: 8 a.m.-2 p.m., LDS Women's Relief Society, 10700 Azure Drive.
