Goodman cooks in Yucca fight
Thursday, March 7, 2002 | 10:51 a.m.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman will serve up steak and potatoes to help raise money to fight the storage of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain.
Goodman will don a cook's apron and chef's hat, work the grill and serve customers who purchase items from The Great Steak and Potato Co. in the Meadows mall food court, from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Store owner Brian Slipock came up with the idea after observing the mayor work a Wendy's restaurant window as a fund-raiser Dec. 7 for the Adoption Exchange, an agency that promotes the adoption of children.
