Park Place Entertainment Corp. named Kim Sinatra to the post of executive vice president and chief legal officer, a new position for the company.
Sinatra was previously senior vice president and deputy general counsel. She replaces Clive Cummis, former executive vice president for law and legal affairs, who has retired.
Separately, MGM MIRAGE named Phyllis James to the position of senior vice president and senior counsel. James was previously corporation counsel and law director for the city of Detroit.
James reports to Gary Jacobs, the company's general counsel. She is the highest-ranking black member of the company's senior management team, MGM MIRAGE said.
