Francisco Alberto Alcantara
Francisco Alberto Alcantara, 32, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. Born Sept. 26, 1969, in Las Vegas, he was a lifelong resident.
He is survived by one son, Francisco A. Alcantara Jr., of las Vegas; his father, Ernesto Alcantara of Boulder City; and his mother, Mireya Alcantara of Long Beach.
Services were scheduled at 2:30 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., followed by a private burial.
Jessie G. Anderson
Jessie G. Anderson, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 26, 1916, in Peoria, Ill. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired owner of a dry cleaning company.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin; two sons, Thomas O. Sander of Adelanto, Calif., and Gerald Sander of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 3-7 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.
The family suggests donations to St. Jude's Ranch for Children Inc., 100 St. Jude, Boulder City, NV 89005.
Hortanse Blackford
Hortanse Blackford, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 11, 1922, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Orndoff, Michele Glassman and Susan Blackford, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Rosaire Newhouse of Silver Springs, Fla., and Lucille Leckey of Chandler, Ariz.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be noon Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.

Jack Bono
Jack Bono, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1928, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired rabbi.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; two daughters, Claire Lively and Renee Zimmerman, and one son, Michael Bono, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Aline Wilhelm of Maryland and Stella Bono and Nellie Itzaky; one brother, David Bono of Paris; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Daisy Busch
Daisy Busch, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 15, 1933, in Pampa, Texas. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired account executive.
She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Van Hoosen of Las Vegas; three sons, Mark Morgan of Encampment, Wyo., and Miles Morgan Sr., and Jason Busch, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Claudene Lindhorst of Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be noon Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by graveside services in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Vincent De Noia, 71 of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a retired cadastral draftsman and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Selina; one daughter, Dina Benjamin of North Bend, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Tom Ethier
Tom Ethier, 65, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born April 13, 1936, in Argyle, Minn. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Chong; one daughter, Kim Underwood of Las Vegas; two sons, Jason Ethier of Las Vegas and John Ethier of Henderson; one sister, Lorraine Scott of Everett, Wash.; and two brothers, Wallace Ethier of Yakima, Wash., and Melvin Ethier of Argyle.
Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by graveside services in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Chris Gans, 15, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born May 13, 1986, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a student.
He is survived by his mother, Wendy Y. Gans of Las Vegas; his father and stepmother, Chris and Wendy L. Gans, of North Las Vegas; one brother, Michael Gans, and one sister, Jennifer Gans, both of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Jim and Candy Gans and Penny Willard, all of Henderson and David Bruce of Longview, Wash.

Ronald Curtis Helvie Jr., 60, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1941, in Arkansas. A resident for 23 years, he was a musician and manager of First Entertainment Credit Union and an Air National Guard veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Stella; and one son, Romero Christian Helvie.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Monday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Patricia Ann Jensen
Patricia Ann Jensen, 58, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 18, 1943, in Whittier, Calif. A resident for 30 years, she was was a special education teacher's assistant.
She is survived by one daughter, Loni S. Jensen of Henderson; two sons, Dennis R. Jensen of Clarksville, Ark., and Darrell R. Jensen of Henderson; one sister, Atha J. Davison of Fullerton, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Jane Elizabeth Latham, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 12, 1943, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a school secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; one daughter, Andrea Latham of Las Vegas; four sons, Christopher, Stephen, Tracy and Robert, her mother, Mae Martin, one sister, Judith Williams, and one brother, David Martin, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 4 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Lorenzi chapel, followed by burial in Memory Gardens.

Maria Marcolina, 77, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. Born Aug. 20, 1924, in Boston, she was an office worker.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Maggorie and Ronald Maggorie; and two stepsons, David Marcolina and Gary Marcolina; and one daughter, Marianne Dunsmore.

Donald F. Mohr
Donald F. Mohr, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Ohio. A longtime resident, he was a musician.
He is survived by one brother, Lawrence Blaine Mohr of Ohio.

Marcelina G. Murgui, 91, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 3, 1910, in Spain. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary C. Merida of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Freddie Mae Norodean, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. Born July 26, 1927, in Chicago, she was an administrative aide and a member of AARP, Amvets Culver City Post, Waves National, Nevada Gems, WIMSA and FRA.
She is survived by one sister, Lucille Hamilton.

Romolo P. Notarbartolo, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born July 22, 1916, in New Orleans. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was a retired custodian and World War II Merchant Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; one daughter, Vera Horvath of Las Vegas; one son, Arthur Notarbartolo of Mount Hope, N.Y.; one brother, Remo Notarbartolo of Otto, N.C.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until noon services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.

Lula Robinson Pilant, 83, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Gerty, Okla. A resident for 60 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine.
She is survived by three brothers, Jack Lane of Redding, Calif., Robert Lane of Tennessee and Jerry Lane of Concord, Calif.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Catherine Polar
Catherine Polar, 62, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born June 7, 1939, in New Orleans. A resident for 12 years, she was an assistant manager in banking.
She is survived by her husband, Ivory; four daughters, Charlene Polar of Hayward, Calif., Tanis Polar of Henderson and Raychell Polar and Joy Spencer, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Naomi Smith of New Orleans; and six grandchildren.

Sidney Pollock, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Philadelphia. A resident for two years, he was an automobile mechanic, World War II Army veteran, decorated with the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

Stephen J. Ramsey
Stephen J. Ramsey, 74, of Dolan Springs, Ariz., died Wednesday in a hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Birmingham, Ala. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a retired engineering contract manager, World War II and Korean War Navy and Air Force veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his companion, Venita Allee of Dolan Springs; one daughter, Karen Edwards of Las Vegas; one son, Chuck Ramsey of Sparks; four sisters, Almaretta Brislin of Huntsville, Ala., and Mary Scarborough, Catherine Fivet and Margaret Powers, all of Birmingham; two brothers, Mickey Ramsey of Birmingham and Patrick Ramsey of Reno; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Suzy; three daughters, Mary Jo Roe, Rhonda Roe and Melinda Roe, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Josephine Roe of Fulton, N.Y.; two brothers, Steven Roe of Wakefield, Kan., and Maurice Roe of Middleton, N.Y.; one sister, Beatrice Stout of Oswego, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sons, Anthony Tortomasi and Joseph Tortomasi; three daughters, Lois Panzer, Virginia York and Mary Tortomasi; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
