Letter: Hamdan acted as concerned citizen
Thursday, June 27, 2002 | 8:53 a.m.
I praise Michael Hamdan, who recently reported a harmful threat in Las Vegas to the FBI. As President Bush advised, Mr. Hamdan acted as a concerned citizen by reporting this information to the proper authorities.
It should be more important to take heed to save lives on the Fourth of July than to worry about our economy.
If Mr. Hamdan's efforts are being punished by the FBI and the media, why would any citizens in the future want to report any suspicious activity and be humiliated?
Should something horrific occur in Las Vegas or anywhere, and we are not taken seriously, who will take the responsibility then?
