Vegas home sales flat

New home sales in the Las Vegas Valley in May were flat, rising just half a percent over sales in the same month a year ago, reported real estate research firm SalesTraq.
Home builders in Las Vegas sold 1,877 new homes in May, up from 1,868 homes in May 2001.
SalesTraq's data also said the median new home price in Las Vegas rose 12 percent year-over-year to $188,000.
Existing home closings were up 11 percent to 3,446 units in May, compared to 3,095 units in the same month a year ago. The median existing-home price in May was $144,500, up 6 percent year-over-year.
