Search continues for teen accused of killing girl, 14

Metro Police continued this morning to search for a 14-year-old Las Vegas boy accused of gunning down his 14-year-old girlfriend early Sunday.
Once located, Ramiro Lopez will be charged as an adult and booked into the Clark County jail, said Lt. Tom Monahan of Metro's homicide unit.
Lopez is accused of shooting his girlfriend Monalisa Nava during an argument at her home in the 1300 block of Oahu Street, near Charleston Boulevard and U.S. 95.
The girl agreed to step outside of her home to talk to him, police said. The pair started arguing as Nava's 12-year-old brother was standing near her holding their 2-year-old sibling just after midnight Sunday.
Nava was taken to University Medical Center, but died soon after arrival, a hospital spokesman said.
Police have not been able to locate Lopez, who goes by the nickname of Demon. Detectives believe one possibility is that Lopez has fled the area and heading to Mexico.
Lopez is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He was last seen driving from the scene in a red Honda.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Metro's homicide unit at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
