A 73-year-old wheelchair-bound man hit while crossing a street earlier this week died Tuesday at University Medical Center.
Jose Ferrera of Las Vegas was crossing Maryland Parkway at Fremont Street in a crosswalk about 7 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a pickup making a left turn from Fremont Street, Metro Police said.
Ferrera was taken to the hospital but died about 2 p.m. Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
The pickup driver, Sara Elsing, 50, of Las Vegas, was cited for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.
Additional charges are not expected to be filed, police said.
