Valley Views columnist Susan Snyder traded her writer's hat for a bicycle helmet and joined five other Las Vegas cyclists for an episode of "Destination Outdoors" that airs on ESPN2 (Cox cable channel 31) Thursday.
The segment, filmed in April, features the bicyclists riding the Scenic Loop Drive in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. It is to be part of a special "Destination Outdoors" episode showcasing women in sports.
The show airs locally at 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday and again at 6:30 Sunday, a day ESPN2 is dedicating to Title IX, the 1972 federal education amendment banning gender discrimination in athletic and academic programs.
Snyder, whose column appears in Accent each Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, is a nationally certified bicycling instructor and is president of the Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club.
