Cedar City braces for next wave
Wednesday, June 19, 2002 | 9:18 a.m.
After the Utah Shakespearean Festival this summer, Shakespeare stays around Cedar City from Sept. 18 to Oct. 18.
The fall season features Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors," the musical comedy "Little Shop of Horrors" and Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest."
J.R. Sullivan, director of this fall's "I Hate Hamlet" and new associate artistic director, describes the coming 42nd season as a collection of plays that offer diversity and depth.
The 2003 summer season runs July 19 through Aug. 30 and includes Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure," "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Richard III," as well as the musical "1776" and the comedy by Garson Kanin, "Born Yesterday."
Tickets for both the 2002 and 2003 season cost $12 to $44 and can be purchased by calling (435) 586-7878 or 1-800-PLAYTIX or by visiting bard.org. Tickets for the 2003 season go on sale Thursday.
