LV ad agency discloses exec shakeup

Tuesday, June 18, 2002 | 10 a.m.

Hall Communications, one of the Las Vegas Valley's biggest advertising agencies, said one top executive departed and the duties of another have changed.

Mick Hall, president and chief executive of Hall Communications, said the agency has parted ways with Tim Quillin, its former vice president of marketing. Hall attributed the split to "differences in advertising philosophies," but said the parting was amicable.

Hall said the agency also has modified the role of its vice president and creative director, Tom Puckett. Puckett will work for Hall Communications on a part-time basis, assisting the agency with strategic planning.

Quillin joined Hall Communications when Hall acquired the advertising and public relations firm of Quillin & Co. in September 2001. Hall acquired Puckett's advertising and marketing company, Thomas Puckett Advertising, in March 2001.

The combined companies yielded one of the valley's biggest ad agencies, a 60-employee firm that had billings in 2001 of $70 million.

Hall said in an interview earlier this year with In Business Las Vegas, a sister newspaper of the Las Vegas Sun, that his company bought Quillin & Co. and Thomas Puckett Advertising partly to gain Quillin and Puckett as senior executives.
