Group helps teens of divorced parents
Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive in Henderson, is offering Teens of Divorce, a new support group 6:30-8 p.m. every Tuesday at the church. The group is designed for teens ages 13-18, who are experiencing anger, confusion, loneliness, fear and uncertainty while going through a parent's divorce. Girl Scout camp registrations taken
Registrations for Foxtail Girl Scout summer camp in Lee Canyon will be accepted through Aug. 9. Camp sessions run 4-13 days and are open to all girls, not just Girl Scouts. For an application, call 385-3677.
Desert tortoises to be discussed
A biologist will discuss rescue and relocation of desert tortoises on construction sites at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society, 700 Twin Lakes Drive in Lorenzi Park. For more information about the free program, call 739-8043.
Luncheon targets careers for teens
Exploring Division of Learning for Life, an affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America, will host a luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Donald W. Reynolds Scouting Resource Center, 7220 S. Paradise Road, to promote the benefits to companies of using the Exploring program to teach teenagers about careers.
