2nd Race -- TRICKS HER -- Pat Valenzuela scales Hofmans trainee for owner Legacy Ranch, draws good post for full field in short dash, Her Tricks to beat foes for diploma. MAJOR IDEA -- Hustling Espinoza on Drysdale trainee for owner Thoroughbred Corporation, bred well, early starter uncharacteristic for conditioner. Value Play -- SERAFINA PEKKALA
3rd Race -- ILE DE FRANCE -- Breeders' Cup eligible draws good rail post for route Grade II Oaks, McCarron on Mandella trainee, solid team for added-money events. SAINT BERNADETTE -- This Breeders' Cup eligible is training at Santa Anita, Solis on Headley trainee for owner Stronach Stables, good filly in tough spot. Value Play -- ADORATION
4th Race -- FREEDOM MEETING -- Part of Golden Eagle Farm-owned coupled entry with BARELY DAYLIGHT, Pincay/Spawr here, Solis/Dominguez there, double threat. BEAR FAN -- Draws good post for Cal-bred allowance sprint, Smith atop co-owner Ward trainee, could trip out in this spot. Value Play -- HELLO RUFFIE
5th Race -- CINTEGRITY -- Squeezed and steadied at the start in last, drops back to claimer, significant jockey change back to Espinoza for owner-trainer Harrington. DISGUYS DALIMIT -- Returns to races from 4-month break, Pincay returns on Spawr trainee, has won off a layoff before. Value Play -- AFFAIRINTHEFOREST
6th Race -- STARTAC -- Makes third start back after layoff, Grade I winner held well in turf marathon in last, Stevens takes over on De Seroux trainee, beware. DENON -- Gomez takes over o Frankel-trained horse, dull races at Santa Anita, but, huge win over this course in Hollywood Derby. Value Play -- KAPPA KING
7th Race -- PEACEFUL PLACE -- Off slowly and weakened as the favorite in last, solid runner-up in debut before that, Valdivia returns on young Canani trainee. BALCOVY -- Loomed up to 3rd and weakened while 4-wide in debut, P. Val stays here for trainer Inda and owners Jones, nice work since raced. Value Play -- SHEZASUMMERBREEZE
8th Race -- EASY GRADES -- Outrun in Kentucky Derby in last, runner-up in two previous stakes outings, good works for return, best races on grass, McCarron now. ROCK OPERA -- Attended pace and held close third in last, broke maiden down the hill at Santa Anita before that, good post for turf route, Pincay stays. Value Play -- OLMODAVOR
9th Race -- MOMENTUM -- Bobbled at the start and bang-up second in last, won Grade III over this track in November, Gomez returns on Dollace trainee, set now. MILWAUKEE BREW -- Santa Anita Handicap winner returns to races here, solid works, Desormeaux back on Frankel trainee for owner Stronach Stables. Value Play -- LETHAL INSTRUMENT
10th Race -- DON'T CRY FOR ME -- Returns to races off 7-month layoff, early foot and weakened on this track in November, drops to claimer now, Steiner will hustle.
