Letter: Good day care worth the price

SafeKey sounds like a good program. It provides day care for working parents at a very low cost. But is it worth it?

The editorial focuses on the cost to the parents for the program. It doesn't mention anything about the safety and welfare of the kids. Are the instructors fully qualified to take care of students? Are they given background checks? Are the facilities well supervised? These are all good questions for a parent to have answers to. The editorial doesn't mention any of these things.

At a day care center you have the security that the person who is watching your kids is qualified, the center is well supervised, and background checks are done to every employee. As a parent, I am more at ease leaving my kids there.

For those parents struggling to make ends meet, there are other government programs designed to help you with the cost of day care.
