Letter: Design doesn’t endorse war

The choice of that icon obviously does not represent an endorsement of nuclear war, nuclear terrorism or Yucca Mountain. It simply represents a program that was a critical part of our nation's defense for over 50 years. And, we believe, a program which was largely responsible for the end of the Cold War.

The director of DMV also advises the NTS Historical Foundation to "submit another design." We must ask the governor and his staff to identify what is currently "politically correct" before we can select another design. I would suggest a quote from George Santayana:

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
