Letter: Boggs McDonald capable candidate

Thursday, June 13, 2002 | 8:49 a.m.

Regarding statements letter writer Mel Lipman and Mayor Oscar Goodman made concerning Lynette Boggs McDonald:

Goodman previously stated that he would be neutral in the congressional race, but when Mrs. McDonald announced that she would be a candidate on the Republican ticket, the Democratic mayor decided to back the Democratic candidate. Did we expect different? How the voters of Las Vegas elected this sad excuse for a mayor, I'll never understand. Talk about an unqualified person holding office -- as Mr. Lipman stated concerning Mrs. McDonald -- look what we have now!

The problem with the liberal mayor and Lipman is that they don't understand or don't want to understand morals or Judeo-Christian morals. Lipman, for your information, the U.S. is considered a Christian nation, not only by most Americans, but by most foreign countries also.

Just because Boggs McDonald quoted from the Holy Bible and is not ashamed of whom she believes, doesn't mean she won't serve the community well.

She is a very capable candidate and would make an excellent representative.
