Seniors program partners with city facilities

Senior Dimensions has bolstered its free fitness program by partnering with 21 municipal facilities throughout Southern Nevada.

The Medicare alternative plan for the Health Plan of Nevada health maintenance organization has reached agreements with the Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson parks and recreation departments and the Clark County Parks and Recreation Department for its members to have free access to some services.

Senior Dimensions also has reached agreements with Boulder City Senior Center and Pahrump First Move Fitness Center for free services.

Senior Dimension members, who previously were eligible for the organization's free exercise classes, can enroll at any participating center with their Senior Dimensions' card, Dave Allazetta of Senior Dimensions said.

They will have access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness centers and weight rooms. Among programs offered at most participating centers are chair-based exercise, low-impact aerobics, yoga, stretching, water exercise and walking groups.
