Betty Lee Abbott, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Topeka, Kan. A resident for five months, she was a retired factory worker for an electronics firm, a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 1127, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 3850 and American Legion 27 in Apache Junction, Ariz.
She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Dean A. Sandusky of Ottawa, Kan., and Terry V. Sandusky of the Philippine Islands; one daughter, Deborah Sandusky-Bjornson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Kathy Woods of California and Kay Long of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Fred Kent and John Kent, both of Topeka and Bruce Kent of Wyoming; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Michael J. Bede
Michael J. Bede, 53, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1948, in Detroit. A resident for eight years, he was a engineer, and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; one son, John Bede of Henderson; one daughter, Jenny Vanessa of California; one brother, Gerald Bede of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jean Ann Bein, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Wisconsin. A resident for six years, she was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by one son, Michael of Las Vegas and David of Georgia; two daughters, Robin of California and Sandra of Wisconsin; one sister, Donna of California; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. June 22 in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Wisconsin.
Carl V. Carr Jr.
Carl V. Carr Jr., 46, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. He was born June 4, 1955, in Rialto, Calif. A resident for 15 years, he was a network supervisor in the computer industry, a member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two sons, Dustin Giordani and Travis Giordani, both of Connecticut; one daughter, Danielle A. Carr, and his father, Carl Carr Sr., both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Darin Wayne Coffman
Darin Wayne Coffman, 31, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. Born July 9, 1970, in Las Vegas, he was a resident for 31 years.
He is survived by his parents, Harold and Mayvis Coffman, and two brothers, Terry Coffman and Harold Ray Coffman, all of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Cheryl Miller of Two Dot, Mont., and Debra Brown and Rhonda Presley, both of Las Vegas.

Cynthia Ann "Sindy" Collins, 39, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A director of reception in the telecommunications industry, she was born May 7, 1963, in New York.
She is survived by her spouse, William Manning, one son, Michael Collins, and her mother, Kathleen Collins, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Michael Collins of Los Angeles, Christopher Dryer of Palo Alto, Calif., Ted Keep of Las Vegas and Darry L. Keep of Denver; and two sisters, Cheryl Ann Lieberman of Waterport, N.Y., and Genie Keep of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Sun City Community Church, 8560 Del Webb Blvd. Neptune Society of Nevada, 8570 Del Webb Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Jeffrey Louis Colson
Jeffrey Louis Colson, 56, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 12, 1945, in New York. A resident for 42 years, he was a disc jockey for a radio broadcasting company.
He is survived by one daughter, Kylie; and one brother, Christopher.

Antoinetta Conti, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1917, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

Joanne M. Cramer
Joanne M. Cramer, 63, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 16, 1938, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, she was a manager of P.J. Russo's restaurant, a homemaker, a former Girl Scout leader and a member of Preceptor Alpha Alpha sorority.
She is survived by her companion, John Scott of Las Vegas; two daughters, Susan Miller of Las Vegas and Karen Beede of Skiatook, Okla.; her mother, Nancy Russo, and two brothers, James Russo and Paul Russo, all of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
Services were noon today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial followed in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Verda M. Cypher
Verda M. Cypher, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born May 5, 1916, in Rosiclare, Ill. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, James Cypher of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; one son, Tyler Fisher of Bozeman, Mont.; his mother, Gaby Bice of Billings, Mont.; two brothers, Mike Fulkerson of Bozeman and Dennis Fulkerson of Las Vegas; and one sister, Diana Wiggins of Las Vegas.

Christina Flores, 22, of Las Vegas died Oct. 27, 2001, on I-15 near Valley of Fire. She was born Jan. 19, 1979, in Alabama. A resident for 11 years, she was a mail clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Jose; her father, Roger Compton; her mother, Leonor; one daughter, Nikaela Flores; and two brothers, Adrian Compton and Neal Compton.

Wayne Godbout, 56, of Henderson died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 20, 1946, in Tucson, Ariz. A resident for eight years, he was a telecommunications worker, and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; his parents, Joseph and Lillian Godbout; one son, Wayne Jerome Godbout Jr.; and two daughters, Danielle Spurlock and Robin Godbout.

Oliver "Smokey" Hilson, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 6, 1923, in Boyceville, Wis. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired newspaper printer and World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bette; one daughter, Heidi Hilson of Tahoe, Calif.; two brothers, Arvin Hilson of St. Paul, Minn., and Myron Hilson of Glendora, Calif.; and one grandson.

He is survived by two daughters, Kelley King South of Henderson and Denise Ciauri of Murrieta, Calif.; one son, Kenneth King of Henderson; two brothers, Ronnie Oettle of Illinois and Patrick Oettle of California; two sisters, Sharon Rhodes of Ely and Mary Ann Oettle of Elko; and five grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Herbert Wayne Harris and Ridgely Hall Maddux, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Wanda Kaye Surrency of North Las Vegas; one sister, Rebecca Davenport, and one brother, Laren Morris, both of Clarksville; seven grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Ellen Seegmiller Love, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Richfield, Utah. A resident for 50 years, she was a school teacher.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond N.; two sons, William JR. Love of Lakewood, Calif., and Norman C. Love of Oak City, Utah; one daughter, Linda Love Lee of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Bunker Chapel, followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Donald W. Muir, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired toolmaker for a manufacturing company and a Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Waynette; two sons, William "Skip" Muir of Merced, Calif., and John Muir of Fullerton, Calif.; one daughter, Donna Morrill of Las Vegas; one brother, Jim Muir of Reno; two sisters, Margaret Stockwell of Buena Park, Calif., and Ruth Johnston of Lake Forest, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

George "Mike" Schleiger, 54, of Henderson died May 31 in Henderson. He was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Lincoln, Neb. A resident for three years, he was a pest control serviceman.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Hunteman of Austin, Texas, and Adam Schleiger of Lincoln; his mother, Darlene Alles of Lincoln; and two brothers, Steve Schleiger of Lincoln and Randy Schleiger of Kearny, Neb.

Andrew F. Schmidt, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Flint, Mich. A resident for 32 years, he was a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam war retired Army veteran, a member of Daylite Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and Shrine Temple.
He is survived by two daughters, Janele Salan and Elaine Athens-Garrison, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Al Schmidt of Phoenix and Ron Schmidt; one sister, Katherine Gaiser of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Everline Shaw, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 57 years, she was a educational assistant.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Shaw of Las Vegas; six sons, Harry Shaw Jr., of Conyers, Ga., Michael T. Shaw of Franklin, Wis., Gary L. Shaw of Boise, Idaho, Tony R. Shaw of Reno, and Paul A. Shaw and Phillip Hogan, both of Las Vegas; her mother, Arena Turpin, and two sisters, Alberta Williams and Rosie Lee Davis, all of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Ollie; two sons, Charles Sloane and James Stuckey, both of Las Vegas; and two daughters, Sharron Burns of Las Vegas and Jacqueline Brown of Chicago; one brother, Bobby Sloane of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Patricia Wickliffe of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Dana G. Smith, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 11, 1945, in Revere, Mass. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired plumber, a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Kim Moll of Las Vegas and Heather Palmer of Murrieta, Calif.; and four brothers, Richard Smith of Palmdale, Calif., David Smith of Las Vegas, Fred Smith of Murrieta and Gary Smith of Sarasota, Fla.

Ernest T. Sorensen, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Longview, Wash. A resident for eight months, he was a retired Army sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam veteran, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Sorensen of Las Vegas.

Willie Mae Tatum
Willie Mae Tatum, 82, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Alexandria, La. A resident for 59 years, she was a laundry presser for a cleaners company.
She is survived by her husband, Harry; one daughter, Annie Lee Green of Las Vegas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams St., followed by burial in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Betty Jo Van Leeuwen, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in California. She was born Jan. 17, 1931, in California. A resident for three years, she was a retired casino cashier and a member of the Lone Mountain Calvary Chapel.
She is survived by one son, Michael Hibler; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Michael Edward Wheat, 41, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 3, 1961, in Parsons, Kan. A longtime resident, he was a maintenance worker for a heating and air conditioning company.
He is survived by his father, Ed Wheat of Wichita, Kan.

He is survived by his companion, Clio; one daughter, Melinda M. Willis of North Las Vegas; one son, Walter G. Willis of Las Vegas; two brothers, George Willis of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Arthur Willis of Mountain Home, Idaho; two sisters, Deloris Headman of Las Vegas and Barbara Egusquiza of Mountain Home, Idaho.

Nicholas Robert Ybarra
Nicholas Robert Ybarra, an infant, died in a local hospital Sunday, his date of birth. He was born June 9, 2002, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his parents, Amy and Robert Ybarra of Henderson; and his grandparents, Judy and Dale Pitney of Henderson and Ana and Richard Ybarra of Scottsdale, Ariz.
