Letter: Bad things going on in our country

I am very disturbed at what I am now seeing in this country. What is happening now is not what many of us served in the military to preserve.

The executive branch of the U.S. has taken powers upon itself that mirror other regimes in history. Power given will be abused.

The Congress refuses to step forward and declare that only it can declare war. The courts hide behind precedents from World War II. A man that I despise -- if he is quietly planning to dirty-bomb us, does he have the means and contacts to do this? -- has been, as an American citizen, denied all his rights by the executive branch.

Will the Congress and will the courts stand up and protect the Constitution? Are we now given rights according to the latest polls from a manipulated populous?

Where are the newspapers that claim their right to cover the trial of a child molester but are silent when the rights of the citizens of this country are in danger?
