Sprint not leasing lines to firm

Monday, June 10, 2002 | 10:58 a.m.

Despite claims to the contrary, Sprint Corp. says it doesn't plan to lease any new lines to a small bankrupt telephone company in Las Vegas.

One Source Teleservices, which last month transferred an undisclosed number of primarily business customers to Sprint so that they wouldn't lose phone service, said the situation was temporary and that it was resolving a billing dispute with Sprint.

Sprint said One Source has not pursued the billing dispute and that it only wants to be paid for service provided to One Source after it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February.

The Federal Communications Commission granted a waiver of rules allowing One Source to transfer customers to Sprint.
