Beer Festival

The sixth annual Las Vegas International Beer Festival, featuring live music, arts and crafts displays and food from area restaurants, will be from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Trent Park, 1600 N. Rampart Blvd. Admission, which includes access to concerts and beer sampling, is $30. Call 807-3371.

Library offering

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District kicks off its summer reading program, "Paws & Celebrate Reading," with puppet shows, storytelling and guests, at 5 p.m. Monday at West Las Vegas Library's theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. (507-3980); and 4 p.m. Wednesday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road (507-3400).

Screenings set

The fourth-annual CineVegas International Film Festival, featuring major studio and independent-film premieres, documentaries and a short-film program, will be held through June 15 at Palms' Brenden Theatres. For ticketing and film schedules, visit cine.vegas.com.

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District will screen the comedy "Cool Runnings" at 2 p.m. today at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave. Admission is free. Call 507-4015.

The library district will also present audience-participation screenings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive (507-3865); and 7 p.m. Thursday at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Clark County Parks and Community Services Department kicks off its "Friday Family Film Fest" with a screening of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," at 8:15 p.m. today at Desert Breeze Park, 8425 Spring Mountain Road. Admission is free; bring blankets or short lawn chairs for seating.

Performers needed

Auditions for men and women for Community College of Southern Nevada's production of "National Pastime," to be performed in August, will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at its Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Call 651-4526.

The Nevada Youth Alliance's Youth Board will hold auditions in July for amateur singers, dancers, dramatic readers and musicians to participate in its upcoming "Arts in the Community -- Salute to Youth" showcase. To register (by June 30) call 633-1610 or 633-2550.

Summer Theatre
