Officer hospitalized after motorcycle crash

A Metro Police officer was in the hospital this morning after she crashed her police motorcycle Tuesday night on the Red Rock Loop.

Officer Tina Ellison, 40, an officer for three years, was training with other officers and several instructors when her motorcycle went off the roadway about 9:30 p.m., police said.

Ellison was taken to University Medical Center and listed in fair condition this morning.

The officers were training to become motorcycle officers and were doing a night ride. Ellison is an experienced motorcycle rider, police said.

Police are investigating the crash.
