Ambulance given to CCSN program

Thursday, June 6, 2002 | 8:32 a.m.

A $15,000 ambulance has been donated to the Community College of Southern Nevada to train paramedic students.

The new rig will allow students to participate in staged casualty exercises and hospital training, said Chris Nollette, director of CCSN's Emergency Medical Services program.

The donation represents good timing for the program that is gearing up for a national accreditation visit next month.

The 300-horsepower vehicle was donated by Specialized Medical Services, Inc., an emergency response firm.

There are about 220 students in the emergency medical technician program now, with 230 more expected to sign up by fall.
