Everyone knows Francis Ford Coppola as a film director, but he happens to be a true Renaissance man, a chef, a grower and a wine maker. At his versatile facility Niebaum-Coppola, he makes one of the best Cabernet Sauvignons in the entire Napa Valley of California, but he also makes mid-priced wines that are both delicious and a terrific value. This fresh, fruity wine is a blend of four white wine grapes: Chardonnay, Malvasia, Muscat and Riesling. It is a wonderful summer aperitif wine, when chilled, and it is fun to sip with cheese and dessert as well.
Available at Wild Oats Markets, $8.99.
