Leonard Ambrosino

Leonard Ambrosino, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Ozone Park, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a retired employee services worker and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; one son, Frank Ambrosino of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation was scheduled 2-5 p.m. today followed by a 7 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Alfred John Bellanti

Alfred John Bellanti, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 12, 1914, in Scranton, Pa. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired automobile mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Constance; two daughters, Shirley Doud and Marie Bellanti, both of Las Vegas; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Curt Bowlin

Curt Bowlin, 41, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 14, 1960, in Little Rock, Ark. A resident for 31 years, he was a hotel wine steward and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Noah of Las Vegas; and his father and stepmother, Robert and Kathleen Bowlin of Conway, Ark.

Visitation was scheduled noon-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Margaret Edwards

Margaret Edwards, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1921, in White Springs, Fla. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Mary Ann Seaver-Kerns, one son, Walter "Bud" Seaver Jr., one sister, Sara Theriault, and two brothers, John Robarts and Ralph Robarts, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

James Alexander Ferguson

James Alexander Ferguson, 84, of Las Vegas died May 16 in Las Vegas. Born Jan. 21, 1918, in Canada, he was a resident for 15 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane; and one grandchild.

Angela Lee Flowers

Angela Lee Flowers, 32, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 18, 1969, in Bay City, Mich. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her companion, Charles Hanna Jr., one daughter, Raven Flowers, her mother, Terry Eunice, and her father, Freddie Lee Flowers, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Julious Flowers of Las Vegas and Trinidad Flowers of Minnesota; and one sister, Kanisha Flowers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Visitation was scheduled 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. services today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be private.

Patricia 'Joy' Gundacker

Patricia "Joy" Gundacker, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born March 19, 1943, in Weehawken, N.J. A resident for 29 years, she was a service representative in the communications industry.

She is survived by her husband, John C.; one daughter, Gena Marino, and one son, Pastor John S. Gundacker, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Joseph Lincoln of Ormon Beach, Fla., and Albert Basile of Toms River, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Hisao Haraguchi

Hisao Haraguchi, 74, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 14, 1928, in Pepeekco, Hawaii. A resident for nine years, he was a retired electrician and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Deanna Haraguchi-Villamor of Kirkland, Wash., and Karen Muramoto of Honolulu; two sons, Rex Haraguchi of Honolulu and Henry Pahio of Hilo, Hawaii; two sisters, Fumiko Isono of Hilo, Hawaii, and Chieko Sugimoto of Pahoa, Hawaii; two brothers, Hiroshi Haraguchi of Pepeekco and Takeo Haraguchi of Hilo; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 12:30 p.m. today in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Calvin Joseph Howard Jr.

Calvin Joseph Howard Jr., 57, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. He was born March 2, 1945, in New Orleans. A resident for 30 years, he was a musician and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Jason of Las Vegas; his mother, Florence; three brothers, Anthony Michael Howard, James Earnest Howard and Reginald C. Howard, all of North Las Vegas; five sisters, Eliska Polk, Pamela Florence Howard and Debbie S. Howard, all of Las Vegas, and Dorothy Howard-Radcliff and Janice Marie Crowden, both of North Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-5 p.m. Thursday in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Charles B. Huckeby

Charles B. Huckeby, 50, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 6, 1951, in Indiana. A resident for one year, he was a machinist mechanic and a veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Joey Ryne of Arkansas and Michael of Arizona; five daughters, Barbara of Arizona, Summer, Tawnya and Jolene, all of Las Vegas, and Judy Dee of Kansas; two sisters, Cathy of Florida and Kay Ball of Arkansas; and nine grandchildren.

Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Services are pending. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bob King

Bob King, 67, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1935, in Abilene, Kan. A resident for 15 years, he was a sales representative for a title company, a Korean War Navy veteran, a former Clark County economic development specialist for 10 years, a member of National Association of Industrial Office Parks and the Nevada Development Authority.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Robert E. King Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Brian S. King of Asheville, N.C.; two stepsons, Jeff Albert of Smith Center, Kan., and Brett Albert of Hays, Kan.; one brother, Clarence King Jr. of Salina, Kan.; five sisters, Virgina Bain and Karen Rhodenbaugh, both of Salina, Joan Depew of Junction City, Kan., Lois Wier of Austin, Texas, and Edith Hurtig of Tescott, Kan.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Phillip D. Kirkling

Phillip D. Kirkling, 29, of Las Vegas died May 29 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 12, 1972, in Las Vegas. He was a convenience store clerk.

He is survived by his companion, Ora Lee Farley, one son, Andre Farley, and one daughter, Sierra Farley, all of Las Vegas; his father, Johnnie Kirkling of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Johnnie Kirkling Jr. and Joseph D. Kirkling, both of Las Vegas; and four sisters, Dorlane Kirkling, Angela Kirkling and LaTonya Bunch, all of Las Vegas, and Sandra Partridge-Suttle of California.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Floyd Roland Lamb

Floyd Roland Lamb, 87, of Alamo died Sunday in Alamo. He was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Alamo. A lifelong resident, he was a rancher, a former Las Vegas resident from 1964 to 1983, former state senator elected in 1957, Lincoln County commissioner and had Floyd Lamb Park named after him.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; one son, Monte Lamb, two daughters, Marsha Leason and Laurelie Brown, two stepsons, Ben Estrada and De Marco Estrada, and two sisters, Erma McIntosh and Wanda Peccole, all of Las Vegas; three brothers, Ralph Lamb and Larry Lamb, both of Las Vegas, and Darwin Lamb of Cedar City, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Additional visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Friday in the Alamo LDS Ward. Graveside services will follow in Alamo City Cemetery.

Janet Moats

Janet Moats, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 14, 1936, in Detroit. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Lee Sr.; two sons, Ronald Lee Moats Jr. of St. Louis and David W. Moats of Roseville, Mich.; two sisters, Edna Benson of California and Helen Liedigk of Roseville; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Thelma Moore

Thelma Moore, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born March 16, 1913, in Mound Bayou, Miss. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired nurse.

She is survived by his nephew and niece, Arnold and Kathleen Gains.

Guy Michael Nelson

Guy Michael Nelson, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Connecticut. A resident for four years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his parents, John and Doris; one brother, Marc; and two sisters, Sue and Lyn.

Ovidio Oropesa

Ovidio Oropesa, 65, of Las Vegas died May 28 in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1937, in Havana. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired gaming floorman.

He is survived by his companion, Yolanda Oropesa, one son, Anthony Oropesa, and one brother, Orlando Oropesa, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Oria Dalman of Florida.

Loretta Leticia Savino

Loretta Leticia Savino, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday at a local hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Hong Kong. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired singer, and a member of Vispashna Medication Center.

She is survived by her husband, Santo; one sister, Brenda Ervin, and one brother, Geraldo DaLuz, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be noon Monday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Jose Manuel 'Nini' Serrano III

Jose Manuel "Nini" Serrano III, 27, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. Born May 7, 1975, in Guam, he was a resident for two years.

He is survived by one son, Keann Serrano, and one daughter, Brooklyn Serrano, both of Las Vegas; his father, Jose Manuel Serrano Jr.; three brothers, Jaime Serrano of Hurley, N.M., and Raymond Serrano and Freddy Cordova, both of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Connie Marquez of Amarillo, Texas, and Rebecca Serrano of El Paso; and his grandmother, Concepcion Serrano of El Paso.

A rosary is scheduled 4 p.m., followed by visitation until 7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road, followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Adelaide Gertrude Shapiro

Adelaide Gertrude Shapiro, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1919, in Massachusetts. A resident for two years, she was president of EDX Management Corp., a medical management service, and is a member of Brandeis University Endowment.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Roy Shapiro and Dr. Howard Shapiro; one daughter, Joan Fogarassy; two brothers, Carl Singer and Earl Singer; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John Twardowski

John Twardowski, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 12, 1948, in Chicago. A resident for 20 years, he was an airport operations coordinator and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Stanley Twardowski of Plainfield, Ill.; two sisters, Dolores Johnson of Milwaukee and Mary Ann Mills of Prescott, Ariz.; and his companion, Carol Polizia.

Enriqueta Urquiaga

Enriqueta Urquiaga, 96, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 15, 1905, in Santa Clara, Cuba. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Olga Dematias and Caridad Muniz, both of Las Vegas; four sons, Orlando Urquiaga of Henderson, Joseito Urquiaga of Miami and Enrique Urquiaga and Santiago Urquiaga, both of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Paulino Villasista

Paulino Villasista, 92, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. Born June 22, 1909, in Asingan, Pangasinan, he was a resident for five years.

He is survived by his wife, Saturnina.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Honolulu.

Judith Wells

Judith Wells, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. Born Sept. 13, 1941, in Milwaukee, she was a resident for 20 years.

She is survived by two sons, Patrick Evans of Las Vegas and Gary Wells of Nashville, Tenn.; and one daughter, Sherry Evans of Milwaukee.

Elmer Wikan

Elmer Wikan, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Wisconsin. A resident for 54 years, he worked in the gaming industry for 50 years and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, James; one daughter, Fredrika; and three sisters, Linday, Loretta and Jane.
