Festival of Fire scheduled Saturday
The Clark County Fire Fighters Burn Foundation will host the second annual Festival of Fire from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday at Texas Station's Event Center.
The program will offer guests an opportunity to support a charity while honoring visiting New York firefighters. The event will also include free food and photo opportunities with Strip performers.
The Burn Foundation is a nonprofit organization that assists victims of fire-related tragedies. All proceeds generated will be used to assist individuals and families who have been displaced due to fire, assisting them with clothing and personal necessities, defraying costs of medical care, as well as helping to send burned children to special summer camps.

Red Rock Canyon programs varied
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes, walks and programs free of charge, but reservations are required. To make reservations or for more information, call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:
Coyote Kids: A program featuring different themes every Saturday such as hiking, self-esteem enrichment, environmental education through conservation, journaling, songs/games/crafts. RSVP.
Birds of Red Rock Canyon: Join the Audubon Society as it presents a slide show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the birds that can be seen at Red Rock Canyon. Meet at the Visitors Center Saturday.
Help provided for pet adoptions
The Paws Cause II dog adoption event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at KB Homes' Iron Mountain Ranch, 5901 Branded Bull Court.
In order to make adoptions easier for families, KB Home is paying $50 of the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' $85 standard adoption fee. The fee will only be $35 for those who adopt at the Paws Cause II event at Iron Mountain Ranch.
Adoptees also will receive a doggie bag full of treats for their new pet, including a KB Home doggie bowl. For directions or more information, call (888) KB-HOMES or visit the website (kbhome.com].
Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church
will hold its fourth annual rummage sale from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday at 2120 Lindell Road. Any rummage Friday. For more information, call 873-5101.
In celebration of National Homeownership Month
, KB Home, Clark County, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas Housing Authorities will honor graduates of the Family Self-Sufficiency Program by sponsoring the 2002 graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday at the KB Home Studio, 7440 Industrial Road. The FSS program help to make the dream of home ownership a reality for its participants. Call 739-9933.
A review and discussion
