Murder victim’s daughter tells grand jury of Weber’s actions

Timmy Weber, who is charged with murder and sexual assault, went looking for his alleged rape victim moments after she was rescued by her brother and spirited away to a friend's house, the girl said in grand jury transcripts released Friday.
Weber pulled up outside the friend's apartment moments after the 14-year-old girl arrived. After being told she wasn't there, Weber left, according to the transcripts.
Within minutes the bodies of the girl's mother, Kim Gautier, 38, and younger brother, Anthony Gautier, 15, were discovered by police, and a three-week manhunt was launched for Weber, Gautier's boyfriend of five years.
Weber was indicted May 14 on 18 felony counts, including two counts of murder, in connection with the case. If convicted, the 28-year-old could face the death penalty.
The transcripts released Friday provide details on the events leading up to the April 4 slayings and the slayings themselves.
Gautier's daughter told grand jurors that on the evening of April 3, Weber became upset with her because she had received a phone call from a black boy.
Weber, she said, accused her of being promiscuous and used racial slurs when describing the boy.
The girl said she told her mother about Weber's behavior, and her mother yelled at Weber and forced him to apologize.
The next morning, while her mother was at a friend's, Weber came into the living room with duct tape, locked the front door and demanded sex from her, the girl said.
After hog-tying her with the duct tape, the girl said, Weber left her alone for 15 minutes. When he came back, he cut the tape off and sexually assaulted her, something he had been doing regularly for five years, she said.
Weber then duct-taped her again, the girl told the grand jury, then left the room after turning up the TV to full volume.
About three hours later, the girl said, her older brother Chris and a friend, rescued her and told her to flee to a friend's.
When the police arrived, the girl said, she and Chris Gautier, 17, accompanied police to their home so they could find their mother's cell phone number.
Chris Gautier told grand jurors he knew something was wrong when an officer came back outside.
"He had a face of -- like a horrid look on his face like something bad had happened," Gautier said. "I just had a feeling in my heart that something happened to my brother, and my sister was in the car now."
Chief Medical Examiner Lary Simms told grand jurors that Kim Gautier died as a result of being struck in the head from behind with an object, possibly a baseball bat, and being strangled.
Her body, with her head covered by a garbage bag, was found shoved upside down into a Tupperware container inside her closet.
Anthony Gautier's death was far slower, Simms said.
A shirt was shoved into the boy's mouth, duct tape wrapped around his face and head, and a plastic bag placed over his head and tied on with a stereo speaker, Simms said. Someone then placed dumbbells weighing 190 pounds on his back and legs as he lay face down on his bed.
Weber, a seven-time convicted felon, is scheduled to go to trial Jan. 6. He is being held in the Clark County Detention Center without bail.
