Rebels picked 4th in poll

CORONADO ISLAND, Calif. --- If preseason polls are any indication, it should be quite a race in the Mountain West Conference this year.
Only six votes seperated the top three teams in the MWC preseason poll of media members released at today's Media Day here. Colorado State (113, five first-place votes) nipped Utah (111, eight) and defending champion Brigham Young (107, two) for the top spot.
UNLV garnered 74 points, good enough for fourth, followed by Air Force (64, one), New Mexico (57) and Wyoming and San Diego State with 26 points each.
UNLV had three players picked to the 2002 preseason All-Mountain West Conference squad. They were senior running back Joe Haro on offense, senior defensive end Ahmad Briggs on defense and sophomore kick returner Dominique Dorsey on special teams.
Former Cimarron-Memorial High School star Arnold Parker, a junior safety at Utah, was also selected to the squad.
