Letter: Who checks on Las Vegas roads?
Friday, July 26, 2002 | 9:33 a.m.
As I drive around Las Vegas I am appalled at the conditions of the roads.
Is there a department that is responsible to check back on the companies that dig trenches across the road or dig holes to fix whatever? Does anyone go back later when the "repair" has sagged and now has become a nuisance to every car, every day?
Why, in the 21st century, does Nevada continue to build roads with dips for water at every intersection? If you drive anywhere else in the country, even those places where it rains regularly, they do not put in rain dips. All the dips do is make it annoying to drive through, and they collect water and dirt.
