International hit to replace ‘Storm’

The international hit musical "Mamma Mia!" will debut at Mandalay Bay in February, replacing the Latin-themed "Storm," which closes Sunday after a stormy run of a little more than a year.
"Mamma Mia!" features the music of the Swedish rock group ABBA. The production opened in London in 1999, where it continues to play at the Prince Edward Theatre. The musical also is playing on Broadway and in Toronto and is on tour in the United States with two production companies.
A spokesman for the show said the open-ended date at Mandalay Bay's 1,700-seat theater will be the production's first long-run location in this country, apart from Broadway.
The musical, set on a Greek island, uses 22 ABBA songs to tell the story of a single mother and her soon-to-be wed daughter. The score includes "Dancing Queen," "Chiquita," "Super Trouper" and "Mamma Mia!"
Information about ticket prices and sales will be released at a later date.
