Vegas employees honored

Four Las Vegas workers were recognized Tuesday as outstanding employees with disabilities by the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.

The winners are Ann Clements, a clerk with the Opportunity Village Thrift Store in downtown Las Vegas; Anna Riecken, a warehouse worker with Mar/Maxx Distributors; Robert Currier, an assistant management analyst with the Las Vegas Valley Water District and James Haertel, an office assistant at University Medical Center.

The Las Vegas office of food and beverage company Sodexho Inc. & Affiliates was awarded Employer of the Year. The award is given to companies based on how cooperative they are in placing people with disabilities and customizing the opportunities to the person's abilities and needs.
