Women's Leads Club sets Visitor's Day
The Las Vegas Women's Leads Club will hold its Visitor's Day Meeting from 7-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at International House of Pancakes, 9480 W. Sahara Ave. This is an opportunity to meet other local businesswomen to expand contacts through personal referrals. For more information, call Bonnie at 360-9690.
Bar association to hold seminar
The Clark County Bar Association will hold a seminar from 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday at 3940 Vanessa, Spring Mountain Road. Cost is $50 for legal assistants or University of Nevada, Las Vegas students; $62 for CCBA or NOW members; $112 for nonmembers.
Topics include: History of Title VII: Administrative and Legal Process and How the Federal Courts View Title VII Actions; Discrimination in Politics; Disability Community -- Equal Access: Business ADA Complaint; and Disability Discrimination in Obtaining State Funding. NLV Police induct seven officers
The North Las Vegas Police Department inducted seven new police officers into their ranks Monday afternoon at the North Las Vegas City Council Chambers.
Six are transfers from other law enforcement agencies and the seventh is a graduate of the Southern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy.
Two longtime officers were also honored Monday for their commitment to the force. Officer Kent Marscheck received a Community Service Award for his 10 years as post adviser to the Police Explorer Program, and Officer Phil Hicks retired after 30 years as a traffic officer.
Blood drive set at Valley Hospital
A blood drive will be conducted at Valley Hospital, 620 Shadow Lane, north of Charleston Boulevard, from 7 a.m. to noon on July 30.
Donors must have identification, be 17 years or older and weigh at least 110 pounds.
