Class on calcium at women's center
The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence will host a seminar from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on the importance of calcium for women.
Barbara Paulson, a registered dietician, will discuss the primary role of calcium in healthy bones, the ways to reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis and strategies to increase calcium intake in children.
Paulson will also discuss other advantages of getting enough calcium, such as reduced blood pressure, reduced risk of colon cancer and increased ability to maintain body weight.
The women's center is at 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 330. Call 616-4900.
Dance camp set for children, 4-18
Dance Attack & Club Sport will hold a dance camp for children ages 4-18 Tuesday through July 26.
The camp will include jazz, hip-hop and ballet technique, and will introduce new dance classes. The event will also offer swimming, barbecue and awards.
Cost is $100 for ages 4-8; $110 for ages 9-18. Register by calling 454-6000, Ext. 311 or 871-1617.
