Website will answer voters’ questions

Wednesday, July 17, 2002 | 9:52 a.m.

Clark County voters have a new tool for verifying their registration, locating polling places and contacting elected representatives.

In an effort to combat the high number of telephone calls from residents, the Election Department has added an election search engine to the Clark County website.

Once a user enters their name and birthdate, the site displays the voter's name, party affiliation, address, precinct number, polling place and polling address. Voters can also click on links to elected officials' websites and e-mail addresses.

The site does not allow voters to make changes or updates online since Nevada law requires a signature to make such changes.

For more information on this program, call the Election Department at 455-VOTE (8683) or visit www.accessclarkcounty.com.
