This week, the 131st British Open will be played on what is regarded as the best venue in the Open's rotation, the 7,034-yard, par-71 Muirfield Golf Course.
With the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Nick Faldo all being former champions, it appears obvious it will take a premium player at the height of his game to emerge victorious on this links layout.
