Yucca Mountain Boys in concert in park
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will present Junior Hotcell & the Yucca Mountain Boys at 8 p.m. Saturday at Discovery Park, 2011 Paseo Verde Parkway, as part of its annual Twilight in the Park summer concert series.
The series is designed to acquaint residents with a variety of musical genres while introducing them to neighborhood parks.

Phone books will help literacy program
Sprint Yellow Pages and the Clark County Public Library adult literacy program will host the second annual recycling event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Sprint, 330 S. Valley View Blvd.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to drop off their old directories, which will benefit the literacy program.

Pioneer Day Parade planned for Saturday
The Pioneer Day Parade and Old-Fashioned Games presented by the Green Valley Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Estes McDoniel Elementary School, 1831 Fox Ridge Drive.
The parade will travel west on Fox Ridge, then north on Valle Verde, turn east on Fox Ridge, and return to Fox Ridge Park.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will offer games, refreshments and activities at Fox Ridge Park. For more information, call 896-7452.
