Areas closed

The Lake Mead National Recreation Area is closing access to four areas in Arizona until the wildfire danger has passed, Superintendent William Dickinson said.
No fires, smoking or fireworks -- including the "safe and sane" variety -- are allowed inside the recreation area, Dickinson said, because the area is in extreme drought.
The following areas were closed until further notice: public use and access to Mount Wilson backcountry, Greg's Hideout, Grapevine Mesa and Grand Wash Valley.
In the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument all roads are closed on land managed by the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
