Pointers
Lori Cain-Slater, a photographer for the Las Vegas Sun, offers a Power Point presentation and will give hands-on pointers at the Nevada Camera Club's meeting at 7 p.m. today at the UMC 2040 Building, 2040 W. Charleston Blvd., sixth floor auditorium. Admission is free. 454-1691.
Street fair
The Paris Las Vegas Street Fair, with complimentary French wine tastings and food and drink booths, runs from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. today and Saturday and from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. 731-7314.
Yoga for children
"Yoga at the Zoo," a class for children ages 5-14 will be from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday and July 24 at the Derfelt Senior Center, 3333 W. Washington Ave., where children learn yoga by assuming animal postures. Admission is $1 for both classes. Registration, 229-6601.
Meditation classes
Nevada Buddhist Vihara, a Buddhist temple, hosts an evening meditation program at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at 2040 Abels Lane. Admission is free. 457-7938.
Screenings set
As part of its Foreign Film Festival, the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd., presents "Kolya" at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed at 12:45 p.m. with "Character," and concluding at 3 p.m. with "All About My Mother." Admission is free.
Also at the West Charleston Library, as part of its Foreign Film Festival, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," will be screened at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Admission is free. 507-3964.
As part of its International Film Series, UNLV's Film Studies Department presents the Iranian film "A Time for Drunken Horses" at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Classroom Building Complex, Room A106. Admission is free. Mature audiences only. 895-3547.
Las Vegas' Family Film Festival presented by the Cultural Affairs Division is screening "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" at 8 p.m. Thursday at Jaycee Park, S. Eastern and St. Louis avenues. Admission is free. 229-6328.
History museum
The Las Vegas Natural History Museum's 11th birthday party, which includes games, food, beverages and surprise guests will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 900 N. Las Vegas Blvd. Admission is $6; $5 for students and senior citizens; $3 for ages 3-11. 384-3466.
Summer Theatre
Volunteers are needed to help collect tickets, direct traffic, sell merchandise and run the concession stand during Super Summer Theatre's performances at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Alice Altman, 877-6433.
