Letter: Guinn mystique hard to figure
Thursday, July 11, 2002 | 8:51 a.m.
I couldn't agree more with the Sun's July 8 editorial, "Just what exactly will pop his cork?"
What does it take for Gov. Kenny Guinn to get excited about anything? I can think of several issues affecting the quality of life in Southern Nevada and you really couldn't tell what the governor thinks about any of them. (School funding and quality, roads, Yucca Mountain, homeless people, water level of Lake Mead, UMC trauma, malpractice insurance, doctors leaving the area by droves, etc.) Is it more important for him to represent Nevada well or to be the buddy of President Bush?
I cannot tell why donors would contribute so much to his campaign. Why is the Nevada Democratic Party so intimidated by him?
