Josephine A. Amundson

Josephine A. Amundson, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 29, 1926, in Los Angeles. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker, a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Oscar J. "Ozzie"; four sons, John Lee Amundson of Fountain Valley, Calif., Craig B. Amundson M.D. of Dawson Springs, Ky., and F. Scott Amundson and Paul G. Amundson, both of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until a 4 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Dr. Louis A. Baker Sr.

Dr. Louis A. Baker Sr., 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Memphis, Tenn. A resident for four years, he was a retired optometrist, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Masons, York Rite Bodies and Rotary International, was an Illinois College of Optometry graduate and was a member of the board of directors of the Vandenberg Credit Union for more than 20 years and Hacienda Bank of Santa Maria, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn C. of Las Vegas; two sons, Mark W. Baker of Minneapolis and Louis A. Baker Jr. of Denver; two daughters, Jacki D. Moya of Fullerton, Calif., and Kathi E. Baker of Fort Worth, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Frances C. Bass

Frances C. Bass, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Centerville, Tenn. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired retail sales clerk.

She is survived by four sons, James R. Bass and Edward W. Bass, both of Columbia, Tenn., and David T. Bass and Dwight T. Bass, both of Las Vegas; four daughters, Barbara A. Haney and Margaret L. Michel, both of Las Vegas, Mary F. Ervin of Columbia, Tenn., and Carol S. Madison of Modest Town, Va.; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Louis Berland

Louis Berland, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 13, 1916, in Kiev, Russia. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired poker room dealer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Marlin Berland of Las Vegas; one sister, Trudy Field of Van Nuys, Calif.; one brother, Benjamin Berland of Canoga Park, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Thursday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Robert Adam Bouch

Robert Adam Bouch, 21, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 18, 1981, in Nevada. A resident for six years, he was a handyman, a member of Padi International Divers and National BMX League.

He is survived by his parents, Jacob Robert and Trenna R. Bouch; four brothers, Aaron E. Bouch and Brandon J. Bouch, both of Las Vegas, and David C. Bouch and Evan R. Bouch, both of Reno; and two sisters, Jamie L. Bouch of Reno and Jannae E. Bouch of Las Vegas.

Edward Braune

Edward Braune, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born March 2, 1955, in Sacramento. A resident for more than 20 years, he was a hotel bartender.

He is survived by his mother, Martha P.; two sisters, Kathryn Braune of Las Vegas and Deborah Barnes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one brother, Allen Braune of Taylorville, Ill.

Stephen Douglas Brown

Stephen Douglas Brown, 49, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 30, 1953, in Somerset, Ky. A resident for two years, he was a contractor and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Stephen Douglas Brown Jr. of Revelo, Ky.; one daughter, Susan Brown of Pine Knot, Ky.; and his parents, Stephen A. and Alice Brown of Whitley, Ky.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Somerset. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jean A. Conger

Jean A. Conger, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Indiana. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel and Joseph, both of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kay Conflenti of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Charlene Fitzgerald

Charlene Fitzgerald, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1947, in Pioche. A resident for 36 years, she was an insurance company analyst and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.

She is survived by one daughter, Toni Lee Perez, and one sister, Maranee Neilson, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Joseph Bleak of Cedar, Utah, Warren Bleak of Las Vegas and Richard Bleak of Pahrump; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Palm.

Beverly Forbes

Beverly Forbes, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 40 years, she was a hairdresser.

She is survived by her husband, Robert A.; two sons, Arthur Charles and Robert Wiley; one daughter, Bertha Marie; one sister, Audrey Kwasney; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Billie Joe Fullen

Billie Joe Fullen, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Harlingen, Texas. A resident for five years, he was a retired salesman for a wholesale distributor and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Cheryl Zimmer and Vicki Jo Crowder, both of Las Vegas, and Carolyn Buck; one son, Richard Crowder of Las Vegas; one brother, Chester W. Fullen of San Bonita, Texas; two sisters, Patsy Pace and Ginger Fullen, both of Waco, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10-11 a.m. Thursday with a noon service in the LDS Azure chapel. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Katherine E. Gill

Katherine E. Gill, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 1920, in Diamondville, Wyo. A resident for two years, she was a retired school secretary.

She is survived by two daughters, Patrick K. Freeman of Las Vegas and Darla S. Gill of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two sisters, Nila Hogan of Soda Springs, Idaho, and Mary Hosburgh of Rock Springs, Wyo.; and one grandchild.

Paula Gregory, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Harjo, Okla. A resident for 62 years, she was a retired apartment manager.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Allen and John Allen, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Sue Wisniewski of Las Vegas and Peggy Scalamere of New York state; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

James Paul Hancock

James Paul Hancock, 12, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. He was born Sept. 19, 1989, in Tucson. A resident for 11 years, he was a student at K.O. Knudson Middle School.

He is survived by his father, Larry Henry of Tucson; his mother and stepfather, Sharon and Connis Burt of North Las Vegas; his grandmother, Norma Pain of Tucson; and one stepbrother, Connis Charles Burt of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Evelyn D. Harmon

Evelyn D. Harmon, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Provo, Utah. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Darrell Harmon of Las Vegas; three daughters, Mary Stacey Montoya of North Las Vegas and Amber Davison and Maile Largesse, both of Las Vegas; one brother, David Rowe of Irvine, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Family prayer will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at the LDS Winterwood Ward, Sloan and Alcott, followed by 10 a.m. services. Nelson Melvin Hill Jr.

Nelson Melvin Hill Jr., 45, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 6, 1957, in Washington state. A resident for one month, he owned and operated an auto detailing company.

He is survived by his companion, Cynthia; one daughter, Courtney Marie; his mother, Verna; two brothers, Stewart and Tracy; and one sister, Sheryl.

Rush Hughes Jr.

Rush Hughes Jr., 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in New York City. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired airline pilot, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Aviation Pioneers Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Hughes Smith of Corvallis, Ore., and Kathleen Hughes Cook of Boyd, Texas; one son, Barney Hughes of Burbank, Texas; one brother, Donald Hughes of Palm Springs, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Howard Knowlden

Howard Knowlden, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Utah. A resident for 50 years, he was a floral supply company owner and a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines.

He is survived by one son, Mike Knowlden, and one daughter, Terry O'Krakel, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Grant Knowlden of Arizona; three sisters, Grace Poliaski of Tooele, Utah, Marjorie Peck of Salt Lake City and Leolia Knowlden of California; and one grandchild.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Tooele. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Stanley F. Kramer

Stanley F. Kramer, 79, of Henderson died Thursday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired service station owner and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou; three daughters, Patricia Bourret of Lexington, S.C., Darlene Kramer of Henderson and Carolyn Cuyler of Las Vegas; one son, Steve Kramer of Green River, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson.

Robert C. Lee

Robert C. Lee, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Indiana. A resident for many years, he worked at Western Southern and Fire Insurance and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Janet Shell, Linda Hamilton, Victoria Rhodes and Debra Stansbery of Elwood, Ind.; and two sons, Gregory Lee and Randy Lee.

George E. McCoy

George E. McCoy, 50, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1951, in Arkansas. A resident for six years, he was disabled.

He is survived by two daughters, Angela McCoy and Alyana McCoy, both of San Francisco; three brothers, Willie Lee McCoy of Las Vegas, L.T. McCoy of Warren, Ark., and Homer Marks of Kingsland, Ark.; and two sisters, Derma Johnson of North Las Vegas and Vernall Marks of Las Vegas.

Claudette F. Powell

Claudette F. Powell, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 14, 1954, in Rapid City, S.D. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker, a member of El Giza Temple 139 and Daughters of the Nile.

She is survived by her husband, Steven E.; two daughters, Stephanie N. Powell of Dublin, Ohio, and Shannon L. Powell of Las Vegas; two sisters, Darnell Rowden of Olathe, Kan., and Richelle O'Driscoll of Reno; and one brother, Richard Waller II of Las Vegas.

R. Fred Ridgeway, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Port Clinton, Ohio. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Ridgeway of Harrisville, N.H.; one son, Gary Ridgeway of Las Vegas; one sister, Elizabeth Ridgeway Steiner of Lima, Ohio; three brothers, Clarence Ridgeway of Huntington, Ind., Reece Ridgeway of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Steve Keith of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Delmar Joe Robertson

Delmar Joe Robertson, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born May 27, 1942, in Fort Smith, Ark. A resident for 48 years, he was an inside salesman for a welding and supply company, AirLiquide America.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; two sons, David J. Robertson of Washington state and Michael Robertson of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Laura Tellez of North Las Vegas; his mother, Edna Roden of Las Vegas; two brothers, Daniel Robertson of Las Vegas and Rick Roden of Henderson; two sisters, Cathy Laub of Las Vegas and Becky Weber of Eugene, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Yalcin Sahim, 55, of Las Vegas died June 7 in Las Vegas. A tailor, he was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Turkey.

He is survived by his companion, Jackie Culp of Las Vegas; and two children.

Jericho Sebring and Tyler Sebring

Twins Jericho Sebring and Tyler Sebring, infants, of Las Vegas died July 1, 2002, their date of birth, in Las Vegas.

They are survived by their parents, Matthew and Sharon Sebring, two brothers, Emil and Nikolas, and two sisters, Sommer and Heather, all of Las Vegas; and their grandparents, Clyde and Clara Shaver and Lee Baldwin, all of Las Vegas, Donald Rogers of Illinois, Thomas and Shirley Sebring of California and Mort and DeVera Gordon, both of Chicago.

Richard E. Tribe

Richard E. Tribe, 74, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born June 8, 1928, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired commercial airline pilot.

He survived by three sons, Steve Tribe of Colony, Wyo., Brett Tribe of Sacramento and Tim Tribe of Phoenix; one daughter, Jana Reitzell of Monterey, Calif.; one sister, Darlene Keenan of Ogden, Utah; and four grandchildren.

A service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Chapel, Eastern, is handling arrangements.

Donna Mae VanEvery, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Canandaigua, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Rabia Fournier of Buffalo, N.Y., and Lorrie Medford and Jackie Johnson, both of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Jerry VanEvery of Buffalo; and four grandsons.

Mae Walker

Mae Walker, 75, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 4, 1927, in Peach Orchard Township, Ill. A resident for four years, she retired as a waitress after 50 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Roberts of Hollandale, Minn., and Debbie Hollander of Las Vegas; two sons, Tom Forth of Albuquerque, N.M., and Bruce Ford of Las Vegas; three brothers, Paul Perkins, Bob Perkins and Carl Perkins, all of California; three sisters, Karen Payne of California, Betty Atkins of Texas and June Schooner of Wisconsin.
