Friday, July 5, 2002 | 11:11 a.m.

P.J. Kids, part of the San Francisco furniture mart for four years, has become the latest company to break ranks and become part of Las Vegas' proposed furniture mart.

P.J. Kids has signed a lease to rent 2,000 square feet of space in the Las Vegas furniture mart, which is proposed west of downtown, between Bonneville Avenue and U.S. 95.

Founded in 1996, Princeton, N.J.-based P.J. Kids is one of the largest manufacturers of private-label children's furniture in the United States, servicing such leading retailers as J.C. Penney, Toys 'R' Us, FAO Schwarz, Pottery Barn and Spiegel. P.J. Kids manufactures several lines for design licensors such as Olive Kids and California Kids.

World Market Center is slated to begin construction by the end of this year and plans to have its first market in 2004.
