Metro Police are searching for a Las Vegas man in connection with the shooting of a woman at her home last month.
Warrants are on file charging Zepferino Elizonda with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.
Police said Elizonda knocked on a woman's door in the 800 block of Grant Street, near Washington Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard, and demanded money from her about 7 a.m. June 26.
He is accused of pulling a gun on the woman. Police allege she closed the door and Elizonda fired two shots into the door, hitting the woman once in the back, police said.
The woman's 6-month-old and 2-year-old children were in the home, but were not injured. The woman was taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threating wounds, police said.
Anyone with information in this case or Elizonda's whereabouts is asked to call Metro Police at 229-4451 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
