Mildred Bubnis

Mildred Bubnis, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 25, 1916, in Baltimore. A resident for 41 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Polish-American Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Eileen Desrochers of Las Vegas; one son, George Bubnis of Bothell, Wash.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 E. Desert Inn Road. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Andrew William Chuma

Andrew William Chuma, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Bridgeport, Conn. A resident for 27 years, he was a hydraulic leadman for Corrair Aircraft, an owner-operator of a hardware business, a member of Oasis Lodge 41 F&AM, Las Vegas Scottish Rite and Zelzah Shrine Temple.

He is survived by one son, William E. Chuma; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Gilbert Claude Cooper Sr.

Gilbert Claude Cooper Sr., 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 2, 1923, in Arkansas. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired owner of a construction business, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Henderson Saddle Association, Nevada Cow Pouchers and Henderson Moose Lodge.

He is survived by one son, Gil C. Butch Cooper Jr. of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Sherry Rose Spugar of Corona, Calif., and Trina Howard Cooper of Las Vegas; two sisters, Helen Louise Moye of Brinkley, Ark., and Donna Jean of Tucson; three brothers, John Calvin Cooper, Jimmy Cooper and Carl Cooper, all of Tucson; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Dolly L. Hall

Dolly L. Hall, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born July 12, 1917, in Waycross, Ga. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired licensed practical nurse and retired minister of the Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by two daughters, Tassie Phillips and Shirley Rushing, both of Las Vegas; six sons, Robert Hall Jr. of Jasper, Ala., Ray Hall of Jacksonville, Fla., Teddy Hall of Austin, Texas, Les Hall of Las Vegas, Ron Hall of Leander, Texas, and Don Hall of San Diego; one sister, Elizabeth Voelker of Jacksonville; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-6 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Warren A. Kolstad

Warren A. Kolstad, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Madison, Wis. A resident for eight years, he was a home health care attendant.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy A.; two sons, Charles Kolstad of Wilkinson, N.C., and Robert Kolstad of New Knoxville, Ohio; two daughters, Cynthia Cooper of Flemmington, N.J., and Beth Kaatz of Pewaukee, Wis.; one stepson, Frank Stearns of Dousman, Wis.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Griffith United Methodist Church, 1701 E. Oakey Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Otilia Medeiros

Otilia Medeiros, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 15, 1912, in Honolulu. A resident for seven months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Medeiros of San Diego and Thomas Medeiros of Las Vegas; one sister, Irene Lee of Kona, Hawaii; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Michael Peterson

Michael Peterson, 39, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born July 27, 1962, in San Antonio. A resident for seven years, he was a computer technician for Connecting Point and a Desert Storm Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Sean Michael Peterson of Las Vegas; his parents, Larry and Afriquita Peterson of Henderson; and three sisters, Marian Lefcourt of Pearl City, Hawaii, Patricia Bowie of San Diego and Cee Jimeno of Mililani, Hawaii.

Services will be 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Dora Scruggs

Dora Scruggs, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 22, 1932, in Seattle. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; five sons, James Scruggs of Los Angeles, Ronald Scruggs of Long Beach, Calif., Michael Scruggs of Las Vegas, Jerry Scruggs of El Monte, Calif., William Scruggs of Palm Springs, Calif.; one daughter, Janet Scruggs of Las Vegas; three sisters, Charlene Johnson of Los Angeles, Ina Vaughn of Reno Valley, Calif., and Nancy Bluntson of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Elmer Jackson Jr. of Los Angeles and Sylvester Jackson of Seattle; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Norman Siegel

Norman Siegel, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired federal civil service employee and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; six daughters, Beth Pearce of Irvine, Calif., Lynn Canfield of Fruitvale, Idaho, Sherri Parman of Marietta, Ga., Dana Siegel of Cypress, Calif., Devra Staneart of Portland, Ore., and Stephanie Siegel of Austin, Texas; two sons, Laurence Siegel of Manteno, Ill., and Errol Siegel of Austin; one brother, Melvin Siegel of Lincolnwood, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be noon Tuesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Irwin A. Shapiro

Irwin A. Shapiro, 81, of Las Vegas died Saturday in New York. He was born Aug. 21, 1920, in New York. A resident for 22 years, he was a dry-cleaning business owner and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Michael; two daughters, Susan and Lisa; and one grandchild.

Helen Smith

Helen Smith, 46, of Las Vegas died June 6 in Las Vegas. A resident for 35 years, she was born Sept. 26, 1955, in Hawaii.

She is survived by three brothers, Jim Smith and Sam Smith, both of Las Vegas, and Matthew Smith of Missouri; and two sisters, Susan Smith of Las Vegas and Nancy Nicks of Idaho.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in SGI Community Center, 1201 S. Jones Blvd. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Katherine E. Swain

Katherine E. Swain, 73, of North Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born June 14, 1929, in Denver. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Wilburn; three daughters, Janice Koontz of Elk Grove, Calif., Joyce Pittsenbargar of League City, Texas, and June Hall of Aurora, Colo.; three sons, Robert Swain of Henderson, Richard Swain of Lakewood, Colo., and Ralph Swain of Evergreen, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Adeline L. Todd

Adeline L. Todd, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Colorado. A resident for 30 years, she was a sales clerk at JCPenney.

She is survived by one grandson, Alexander.
