Because of an error by the Sun, a story in Monday's Metro section incorrectly described the arbitration process between the Clark County School District and the teachers' union. Before hearing testimony, the arbitrator may require the two sides to attempt mediation. However, the final decision on the contract's terms is still made by the arbitrator. The Sun regrets the error.
