NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE
Anglers continue to enjoy fair fishing for rainbow trout in Lake Mead following the Nevada Division of Wildlife's weekly plants at Horsepower Cove, Hemenway Harbor, South Saddle Cove and B-5 (Pumphouse) Cove.
A pair of anglers reported to NDOW that they caught five striped bass last Friday night by casting Bomber Long A lures at Hemenway Harbor. Those fish weighed from three to five pounds.
Another area in the Boulder Basin that has been productive at night has been South Saddle Cove, which is located near Lake Mead Marina. Anglers have been fishing along the shoreline north of the stocking site.
Creel census clerks who have been working in the Overton Arm have seen very few crappie in recent days, even though there have been quite a few boaters searching for the fish.
Largemouth bass fishing continues to be fair to good from Fish Island to the Virgin narrows. Striped bass fishing has been fairly good in the area in front of Echo Bay Marina and around Echo Bay's inlet.
Rainbow trout were stocked Tuesday at Cottonwood Cove and Wednesday at Aztec Wash. There have been no reports of angler success for either trout or striped bass following those plants. Trout will be stocked today at Placer Cove.
